This elegant tray is inspired by the Rinka (flower-petal) shape found in antique lacquerware. Characterized by its soft, undulating curves, the Rinka design originally draws inspiration from large, blooming flowers like the hibiscus. This graceful aesthetic has been a beloved motif in Japanese tableware and lacquerware since ancient times.
Each tray is meticulously hand-crafted from solid chestnut wood at a woodworking studio in Yamagata Prefecture.
The finish utilizes an inorganic glass coating. Unlike standard urethane finishes that create a thick surface film, this coating penetrates the wood—much like traditional lacquer—to highlight the rich grain of the chestnut while maintaining a natural, raw-wood feel. The coating is highly safe and compliant with food-grade standards.
Measuring 27cm, it is versatile enough to be used as a tea tray or as an Oshiki (individual meal tray) for various occasions.

Natural Variation: As this is a natural wood product, each piece features unique grain patterns and color tones. Slight warping may occur over time.
Care Instructions: While the finish protects against water and stains, leaving liquids on the surface for extended periods may cause spotting. Please avoid placing oily foods directly on the tray.
Cleaning: To maintain the wood's quality, do not wash with water. Instead, wipe with a tightly wrung, damp cloth if it becomes soiled.
