This is an Ultra flat kyusu teapot from the "TOKI" collection by JINSUI, a Tokoname ware potter established in the Edo period. This kyusu is a stoneware kyusu, which is between ceramic and porcelain, made of high-quality clay and fired by Tokoname's unique reduction firing process.
The tea strainer is made of the same stoneware as the main body, using a technique unique to Tokoname, and has numerous fine holes in it, so that even relatively fine tea leaves can be poured smoothly.
The characteristic flat shape and thin, lightly fired kyusu are also functional, and create an elegant and enjoyable tea drinking experience. With a capacity of 100ml, this kyusu is ideal for enjoying fine sencha or gyokuro tea.
Width : 20 cm (including handle)
Depth : 13.3 cm (including spout)
Height: 4 cm
Volume: Approx. 100 ml for the right amount of tea
Material : Stoneware
Comes in its own paper box
