This is a storage bag for white porcelain nested tea utensils. The outer fabric is a shiny “Kinran” fabric made by Nishijin-ori in Kyoto, which is used for kimonos. The fabric is woven with a pattern called “hirabishi” and has a rich texture. The pompoms on the ends of the strings, which use wool fringe, are an accent. There is a padded cushion between the outer and inner fabrics. When storing or carrying, wrap the lid of the kyusu in the provided cloth (Ukon-cloth: traditional cloth used to wrap pottery, etc.).
