This is a white glazed Shiboridashi kyusu teapot created by Yukiko Saito, a potter and tea artist at Shigetsu Kiln. The soft and generous shape, characteristic of Saito's work, is created using a kick wheel, and the calm color of the glaze, with its rich texture and crackling, is the charm of this teaware.
The wide rim of the teapot allows you to enjoy the sight of tea leaves unfurling, and in this season, it looks refreshing when filled with plenty of ice for cold brewing.
As you continue to use it, you can look forward to the teapot gradually developing a characterful expression. With a capacity of about 110ml, it’s perfect for enjoying sencha, as well as Chinese or Taiwanese tea. There are also a small teapot with a spout, sencha bowls, and a yuzamashi (tea pitcher) from the same series.
Diameter: Approximately 12.6cm
Height: Approximately 7.2cm
Capacity: Approximately 100–110ml
Each piece is handmade, so there may be variations in size, shape, color, and texture. Please note this in advance.
